My life, my rules! stays true, of course!
And it’s an acceptable thought if you think ‘why do I need somebody else to tell me how to live?’
But what if you never looked at life with a perspective that you are not aware of and looking at it could transform your life?
You may be well educated, employed in a well-paying job in a reputable organization, are an aware individual and exercise your free will in taking your life decisions independently on your own, there are chances you are feeling un-fulfilled in one or more important aspects of your life like one of the below individuals.
Below are statements from driven individuals who strongly feel that life is still not coming together for them. Some important pieces are still out of their reach.
- My career is growing dramatically, but I am unable to fulfill my personal hobbies and desires such as pursuing sports, travel, books, adventure.
- Though my job is financially rewarding but I am not feeling fulfilled because the work I do, does not match my interest or passion.
- I know what kind of work interests me, but my career is stagnating because I don’t know where to get started?
- Though I am doing well financially, but unable to experience quality life with significant other, kids, family and friends.
- Though I am very successful professionally, but do not have any close friends and feel lonely in life.
- I like the work I do, and it keeps me busy, but I am unable to focus on my physical fitness.
- I am quite happy in my work but not growing professionally.
- I am forced to be in job in which I feel extreme boredom.
From my personal experience, there are many of our fellow beings who live through life as one of the above variants that I term as ‘suppressed or reduced life’. They do not live how they would like to have lived, are unable to do what they want to do, they are suppressing their unhappy feelings all the time, living a unfulfilled life, feeling helpless and continue to suffer inside their heads and let the only life they have got pass by. Many may not acknowledge but they are not happy within with the overall quality of their life. You may look around and find that most of our contemporaries are also feeling more of less the same.
With the world becoming complex and challenges rising in almost all aspects, be it work, be it relationships, be it personal quality of life, it is undeniable fact that more and more people are ending up living with a constant feeling of unhappiness and regret.
What famous Persian poet Rumi said is so exasperatingly true, ‘every mortal will taste death, but only some will taste life’?
Why? is an obvious question. What stops people to fully live the only life they have got? Why do people waste huge potential they have for greatness?
- Is it because they are not aware what they want out of their life?
- Is it because they have never thought that life need not be what it is?
- Is it because they are conditioned not to challenge the default way of living?
- Is it because they think since most people live that way, it is how life is?
- Is it because they have given up and accepted their current way of living as life?
- Is it because they are afraid to go out of their comfort zones?
- Is it because they are compelled to continue their current course due to external forces or circumstances?
- Is it because they do not know how to make an action plan to come out of compulsions?
Your reason could be any of the above or any other that is relevant in for you but not listed above but one thing is common in all those reasons is that it is within you. The reason for your unfilled life is nobody else but you. You can be the best version of yourself.
One must ask, ‘Am I getting maximum out of my life? Or ‘Am I missing something important that is bothering me’? What is important to you? ‘Would you happy if you continue to live your life as it is today until the end?’
What you are missing out is the huge unrealized potential for greatness in your life, an opportunity for you to expand your life.
There are umpteen encouraging and inspiring transformation stories you would find of people who have been able to change their lives to greatness. You can too! You have the power to make a choice. Why not exercise the power for a better life?
You grow when you operate outside of comfort zone. Find out what you desire to do but are not doing it because it means going out of comfort zone. Try doing it. visualize the benefits of doing it. Get into a discipline of talking to your mind.
When you take full responsibility of your life, when you want to explore and discover what you want out of your life, having a coach could be of great value. A coach could be your confidant with whom you could share your raw ideas without the fear of being judged. A coach’s goal would be to get the best out of you.
You get better at what you practice. Habit changes require you to stay on course and a coach could help you make progress. Coach can ask the difficult question? Can look at your point of view? Can think objectively about your benefit?
Change would be faster and easier with a coach who has the experience & wider perspective gained from coaching other individuals and has a process that can increase the chances of success.
Get a coach, if your game in life is a big one!
